What makes HinsonGayle pearl jewelry so special?
We strive to do two things when designing new pieces: 1) select premium quality pearls that enhance the HinsonGayle brand, and 2) create stunning and unique pearl jewelry designs that are challenging or even impossible to find at your local jewelry store or other online jewelry retailers. These two things set HinsonGayle apart from our competition and have ensured our special niche in the global pearl market.
What is the difference in between AAA Gem Collection, AAA Handpicked Collection and the Handpicked Collection?
AAA Gem Collection
Looking for the crème de la crème in pearl quality and style? You don’t have to compromise. Our AAA Gem Collection are rare, top-of-the-line, Ultra-Premium pearls that exude the smoothest and cleanest surfaces with an incredibly high luster and brilliant iridescence. Only sold with 14K gold accessories — earring posts/backs and clasps — these pearls are almost perfectly round (except for our one-of-a kind Baroque and Keshi pearls, which are purposefully unique), uniform in size, meticulously color-matched, and virtually flawless.
AAA Handpicked Collection
At HinsonGayle, our second-best surpasses the highest standards. Superior to most jewelers’ high-quality collections, our AAA Handpicked pearls are rare with a naturally high luster and smooth surface. Graded just slightly below our AAA Gem Collection, this particular class still offers meticulous color and size matching, and striking iridescence. Sold with Sterling Silver and 14K gold accessories — earring posts/backs and clasps — these pearls are nearly round (except for our one-of-a kind Baroque and Keshi pearls, which are purposefully unique) and practically flawless.
Handpicked Collection
Exceptional value at HinsonGayle never means sacrificing quality. Our Handpicked Collection pearls are often almost equal in luster, size, uniformity, and color matching as our AAA grade collections. Used in many of our fashion-forward designs, these pearls may exhibit very minor surface imperfections but are always stunning, paired with premium sterling silver accessories (earring posts/backs and clasps), and perfect for any occasion. Classic round pearl Handpicked designs will be slightly off-round.

Is HinsonGayle pearl jewelry made with natural or cultured pearls?
Our jewelry is created with cultured pearls. Our freshwater, saltwater, Tahitian and South Sea pearls are cultured pearls, meaning that they were created inside living mollusks with human intervention by introducing an irritant into the shell to cause a pearl to grow. Jewelry-grade natural pearls are rare and expensive, that is why almost all pearls used in jewelry are cultured pearls. For more consumer information about pearls and the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines for the marketing of pearl jewelry, please read the FTC's Guides for the Jewelry, Precious Metals, and Pewter Industries.
Where does HinsonGayle get it pearls?
HinsonGayle is committed to designing Simply Stunning pearl jewelry from the highest quality pearls available. Most of the pearls used in HinsonGayle jewelry are sourced onsite in Asia. This often involves sorting through strand after strand of pearls until we find the quality, shape and color needed for a particular piece. This process takes a lot of time and patience, but our company is committed to ensuring that only the best pearls are given the HinsonGayle name.
Does HinsonGayle pearl jewelry come with an appraisal certificate?
We believe an appraisal from the company that sells the item is not independent and is suspect as biased. Therefore we do not provide appraisals. We guaranty our pearls are genuine and come from the regions stated. Ultimately, our impeccable company history and customer reputation are the best assurance. We recommend our customers shop around and compare our pearls to any other company’s pearls. This is where we shine. People are amazed at the quality, luster and smooth pearl surfaces. Also Quality Control is a very important part of our business model. Our pearls are carefully inspected and graded before purchase. They are inspected again upon arrival to our US office where the pearl surface, luster, size and length are again inspected and measured to insure strict specifications are met. In addition all HinsonGayle clasps are checked before placing in our signature boxes to insure they are functioning. If for any reason you are not thrilled, feel free to return the item. We stand behind all our jewelry.
What if there is an issue with my pearl jewelry?
Pearl jewelry, like anything, can break if it is dropped, forcefully pulled, etc. Please take care of your pearls and do not let children wear or play with them. If you wear your pearls often, you may need to restring them every now and then (see below).
If you experience an unexplained issue with your pearls within 30 days of your order's shipment date, we will be happy to repair or replace it free of charge as part of our 30-Day Guarantee. Please follow the return instructions on our Returns page should a return be necessary.
When should I restring my pearls?
Fine pearl necklaces and bracelets are strung by hand tying the pearls together with knots between each pearl. The thread can weaken and eventually even break due to exposure to elements such as cosmetics, dirt, oil, etc. It is recommended that you have a jeweler restring your pearls when necessary. How often you wear your pearls and how well you take care of them will determine when you should restring them. If you wear your pearls every week, you may need to restring them after a couple of years or so. If you only wear your pearls occasionally, they may not require restringing for many years. Many local jewelers can restring pearl jewelry. HinsonGayle does not offer this service at this time.
